DKT Utility Trial and Landmark Novice Utility Trial 8 August 2012

Novice Landmark Trial commences 7am on the

8 August 2012 to be followed by the

Open DKT Trial.

The Novice Landmark and Open DKT Trials are open to dogs that do NOT qualify to enter the Novice Kelpie or National Kelpie Trial.

Novice and Improver Dogs may enter in Open.

Eligibility of Entry to Novice:- Only open to dogs which have never won a Yard event, Utility Trial, Field trial other than encourage. Dogs to be worked in order entered and NO late entries will be accepted.

Entries may be limited.

National Kelpie Trial (to commence on completion of Novice Kelpie Trial)

 

Eligibility of Entry:- Only dogs registered with the WKC National Stud Register, A2grade Appendix or higher and the progeny of suitably registered dogs shall be deemed eligible to compete in the National Kelpie Field Trial Championship.

 

Novice and Improver Dogs may enter the Open.

 

Novice Kelpie Trial (to commence on the 9 Aug after DKT Trial)

 

Eligibility of Entry:- Only open to dogs which have never won a Yard event, 3 sheep trial, Utility Trial, Kelpie trial or Field trial other than encourage. Entries may be limited.

 

Special Junior Prize (runs scheduled for the weekend)

Eligibility of Entry:- Handlers 15 years and under

All entries close 2 July 2012

Novice Yard Trial commencing on the 2 August Entries close 2 July 2012

 

Novice Trial will be run under WAWSDA Rules.

Open and Australian Championship Trials will be run under AYDA Rules.

Novice and Improver Dogs will be allowed to enter the Open.

 

The Australian Yard Dog Championship will comprise the State Representatives and the highest scoring dogs from the Open Trial. Dogs tied on the cut off score will be included in the Australian Yard Championship.

 

The Australian Yard Association Annual General Meeting will be held on Friday 3rd at 7.30 pm in the Wagin Woolorama Sheepdog Office

Code of Conduct

Australian Yard Dog Association

 

1 Condition of dogs

 

Dogs are to be presented in good healthy condition at all times

 

2 Transport of dogs

 

Overcrowding of dogs in vehicles and trailers is to be avoided

Trailers and cages transporting dogs are to be kept clean and well ventilated

Dogs to be offered water regularly

Dogs to be exercised and allowed to be empty out regularly

 

3 Threatening of dogs on trial ground

 

Handlers threatening dogs on trial grounds will be reprimanded and or disqualified

 

4 Behaviour of Handlers and Members

 

A. Handlers disciplining dogs in a manner that offends the public will not be tolerated at any venue or event associated with the AYDA.

Strong action will be taken against those who offend.

 

B. Handlers and members are required to behave in a sportsmanlike manner both on and off the trial venue.

 

  1. A member must not inflict verbal or physical abuse upon another competitor, spectator or official

 

5 Members Etiquette

 

1. Handlers should be considerate and responsible when exercising dogs.

 

2. All dog droppings to be collected and disposed of in an appropriate manner in public places

 

3 Dogs are to be under control at all times

 

6 Movement of Livestock

 

1 All sections of the trial course should be designed to allow the movement and flow of sheep to be achieved with minimum of stress to the animals and utilising the natural following behaviour of the sheep.

 

2 A handler or stock person must not inflict pain or cause undue stress to any animal.
